Jamboree 2011 Leadership Team

The four successful candidates and their positions are:

Leader – Steve Davies – Explorer Leader – Biggleswade District

Deputy Leader – Gerry Pope – Assistant County Commissioner (International)

Assistant Leader – Helen Draycott – Scout Leader – Ampthill and Woburn District

Assistant Leader – Tom Hose – Assistant County Commissioner (Explorers)

Although the Jamboree is still two years away there is plenty to be done. The priorities the team are currently working on are:

  • plans from now until they depart for Sweden

  • how all of the young people eligible to attend are given the opportunity to apply to be a member of the contingent

  • how the 36 young people will be selected and

  • what support the leadership and the contingent will want from the County from now until they return from Sweden

The contingent will consist of 36 young people with each District allocated two places. Applicants for the contingent will go through a selection event, the basis of which will be drawn up by the leadership team. Information will be available in the near future regarding how the eligible young people can apply to be a member of the contingent.

Information will shortly be available regarding adults applying to be a member of the International Service Team. Applications to become an IST member can be made from 19th October 2009.
