Three Cub Scouts from the 16^th Someries Scout Group in Luton had their Christmas wish come true when Basil Brush took time off from the pantomime ‘Cinderella’ to present them with their Chief Scout Awards. Basil said, “It’s Boom! Boom! for these Cubs who now have this splendifereous award.”

The three ten year old winners are, Megan Horwood, Jamie Lofthouse and Martin De Spirlet. They each took over two years to complete the six challenges for this top award. As part of their promise challenge they took part in St George’s Day celebrations two years running. For their community challenge they learned about first aid. Then they took part in a healthy eating contest for their fitness challenge. Later they designed and built a model using pioneering skills for a creative challenge before moving on to a recycling project as part of a global challenge. But what all of them liked best was the outdoor challenge and the opportunity to go camping and build shelters under the trees.

All three will soon be moving to the Scout Troop where they will take part in more challenging adventures. They said, “Basil was great fun and told us lots of jokes.”
